Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug 19, 2024 – The Jonesboro Police Department conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Belt and Scott Street on a car which showed to have “unconfirmed insurance.” Neither the driver nor the front seat passenger had their IDs on them but provided names and dates of birth that were eventually proven to be false.

Officers found about 3.5 grams of marijuana in the center console. They also found digital scales and baggies in the glove compartment. At that point, they searched the three people in the car and found a little over $1000 in cash. They were identified as Jasper Perry, Heather Smith and Raheam Burton.

The K9 partner continued to search the vehicle and found a hairbrush that looked interesting. Turns out, the end of the hairbrush was removable. Inside the brush, officers 6.3 grams of fentanyl tablets, 9.9 grams of meth and some ecstasy tablets. There was also a meth pipe and a syringe. All three were taken into custody.

Perry and Burton were both charged with possession of fentanyl with purpose to deliver and their bonds were set at $225,000 each.

Additional charges include possession of meth or cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and obstructing governmental operations.
