Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Jan. 4, 2025 – A jailer at the Craighead County Detention Center found 2.5 grams of meth in a Jonesboro woman’s underwear on Thursday.
Jonesboro police conducted a traffic stop near E. Johnson Avenue and Pierce Drive, due to the vehicle showing unconfirmed insurance. Officers made contact with the vehicle’s driver, who was on active probation with a search waiver on file. While speaking with the driver, officers noticed that the vehicle’s 44-year-old passenger wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and appeared nervous.
Since a K9 was already on scene, officers conducted a free air sniff around the vehicle, with the K9 alerting on the vehicle’s passenger side. Officers searched the vehicle but found nothing. Officers then took the passenger to the Craighead County Detention Center, since there were no female officers available to search the women’s persons.
On the way to the Craighead County Detention Center, the passenger told officers she had methamphetamine in her crotch. Once at the jail, a female jailer located 2.5 grams of crystalized methamphetamine in a plastic wrapper in the passenger’s underwear.
The passenger is charged with one count of possession of meth or cocaine greater than two grams but less than 10 grams. She was given a court date of Feb. 28 and a $35,000 cash or surety bond. She is being held at the Craighead County Detention Center.
