Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Dec. 17, 2024 – Jonesboro police pulled a vehicle over on Dec. 13 after watching it weave into oncoming traffic on Caraway Road.
Once they approached the vehicle, they could see the 29-year-old driver had a lethargic expression on her face. Her vehicle then began to back up toward their patrol car. They yelled at her to put it in park, but she didn’t, and her vehicle collided with the patrol car, causing minimal damage.
Her pupils were dilated, her eyes were red, and her speech was slurred. Officers could also see a 6-year-old boy in the front seat, unrestrained.
Officers searched a shoulder bag she was wearing and found two large pill bottles full of bags of cocaine packaged for sale, a digital scale, and $1,345 in cash. The amount of cocaine was 18.6 grams.
The woman was charged with possession of cocaine with purpose to deliver, endangering the welfare of a minor, driving while intoxicated, no child restraint and driving left of center. Her bond was set at $15,000 cash or surety and her court date is Jan. 24 at 8:30 a.m.
According to the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office, the woman, who was arrested Dec. 14 at 1 a.m., bonded out Dec. 16 at 4:01 p.m.
