Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Oct. 23, 2024 – A Jonesboro woman attempted to hit multiple people with her car while intoxicated over the weekend, police said.
On Oct. 20, Jonesboro police responded to a residence on Matthews Avenue in reference to a disturbance. When the officer arrived, the three victims and the suspect were outside. The suspect was loud, so the victims were trying to get her to leave.
The suspect got into her car, after which she reportedly began to drive erratically and attempting to strike the victims. According to the probable cause affidavit, the suspect ran over one of the victim’s feet, during which the victim’s hand struck the windshield and received a minor injury.
Reportedly, while attempting to hit the victims, the suspect drove through several yards, leaving fresh tire tracks. After leaving the area, the suspect hit a fourth victim’s car.
After leaving the area, officers stopped the suspect and conducted a blood alcohol test, which resulted in a BAC reading of .081. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Craighead County Detention Center. She later gave a breath sample which showed her BAC to be .05.
The suspect is charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of 2nd degree battery, one count of criminal mischief and one count of driving while intoxicated.
She was given a court date of Dec. 17 at 8:30 a.m. and a bond of $25,000 c/s.
