Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – The Jonesboro University Heights Lions Club is displaying U.S. flags across community businesses and buildings in recognition on Saturday in recognition of Independence Day.

Independence Day commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the 13 colonies on July 4, 1776, establishing the United States of America. This year’s celebration marks the country’s 250th anniversary.

The flag display is part of the club’s service project, which provides flags, poles and flag brackets to the community for $50 per year. Flags are displayed at least 10 times per year, including national holidays and special days, weather permitting.
