Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Nov. 15, 2024 – The Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas is hosting the Fill the Food Bank drive, co-sponsored by the Jonesboro Radio Group and KAIT8.
The food bank is aiming to raise 350,000 meals for families in need. It is taking donations of unexpired, nonperishable food for families in need at the Walmart on E. Highland Drive.
It started taking donations at 6 a.m. and will stop at 6 p.m.
For those who want to give monetary donations, they can give online by texting “NEAFOOD” to 44321 or can click here. The donation goal is $10,000.
People can also give at one of the food bank’s 11 satellite locations across Northeast Arkansas:

- Walmart Supercenter (205 Deadrick Rd., Forrest City)
In addition, the top five people who donated the most food between Oct. 1 and Nov. 7 will receive on-air interviews with the Jonesboro Radio Group and KAIT8 and be featured on the food bank’s website and “Feeding the Hungry” newsletter. The number one donor will also receive the Fill the Food Bank Traveling Plaque for one year.
“The holidays should be a special time for everyone, but for our neighbors facing food insecurity, the holidays can be stressful,” the Food Bank of NEA’s website read. “At a time when we all want to celebrate with friends and family, families dealing with food insecurity are doing their best to get by. We don’t want anyone in our community to go without this holiday season. That’s why we need your help to Fill the Food Bank.”
