Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Feb. 12, 2025 – The Jonesboro Public School District has announced the two finalists for its superintendent search.

The finalists are Misty Doyle and Dr. Keith McGee. Final interviews, including time with community members and staff, will take place Feb. 19 and 20, according to news release from the district.

“After an extensive selection process led by Education Partners, these outstanding leaders have emerged as top contenders,” the news release said. “We look forward to announcing our new Superintendent in the coming weeks.”

This comes after the current superintendent, Dr. Kim Wilbanks, announced she was retiring in November. Wilbanks’s career spanned over 40 years, with over half of that time at Jonesboro Public Schools.

Doyle taught as a 4th grade teacher, then a 5th grade teacher, then finally a fourth through sixth grade Title I reading specialist, all at Nettleton Intermediate Center. Her administrative experience includes serving as a school improvement specialist then director of curriculum at Jonesboro Public Schools. She’s currently the assistant superintendent of teaching and learning at JPS.

McGee served as principal of Horace Mann Arts/Science Magnet Middle School and later deputy superintendent of the North Little Rock School District. He was also superintendent of schools at the Helena-West Helena School District. McGee is currently the superintendent of schools at Watson Chapel School District in Pine Bluff.
