Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — March 14, 2025 — The Jonesboro Police Department has welcomed a new member to its K9 Unit.
In a news release on Friday, JPD presented Ollie, a 16-month-old Springer Spaniel. Ollie is handled by Sgt. Evan Henry, and both have been assigned to the patrol division.
Ollie is trained in drug detection, evidence recovery and tracking. The news release added that he’s the only dog in the department that is not bite-certified, meaning he can track missing and endangered adults and children.
“Ollie’s friendly nature will assist in furthering the Jonesboro Police Department’s goal of community-based policing by serving with officers at community events and schools,” the news release said.
