Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — March 24, 2025 — Some of the best pro disc golfers in the country will be in attendance at the 2025 Play It Again Sports Jonesboro Open, presented by Westside Discs, this weekend at Disc Side of Heaven.
The tournament is set for March 28 at 8 a.m. through March 30 at 5 p.m. at Disc Side of Heaven’s Championship Course, located at 3255 Strawfloor Drive in Jonesboro.
Pro athletes from around the world will be participating in the open.
“We still have players coming from six foreign countries,” said tournament director Brad Pietz. “Plus, we will still have nearly 100 professionals out here playing, and it would be great for people to come out and still show support for the people that are coming to Jonesboro this year.”
However, this will be the only year in the tournament’s eight-year history that the Jonesboro Open will not be part of the Pro Disc Golf Tour.
Pietz said due to construction around the Jonesboro Open’s pond, the Jonesboro Open is taking a year off from the pro tour.
“There’s like 15 tournaments out of thousands throughout the entire season that are actually part of the Disc Golf Pro Tour,” Pietz said. “This year we are not part of the Disc Golf Pro Tour but it’s still a professional disc golf event.”
However, Pietz said a Disc Golf Pro Tour representative has assured him that the Jonesboro Open will be part of the tour again next year.
The Jonesboro Open has been a part of the Disc Golf Pro Tour since 2017, bringing hundreds of players and thousands of fans to Jonesboro over the past eight years. It has also produced some of the most memorable moments on Tour, most recently two playoffs in the last three years; a record-setting 1102 rated round by James Conrad and Kat Mertsch’s first win on Tour both in 2023.
At this year’s Jonesboro Open, the FPO (Female Professional Open) field will once again showcase some of the best players in the game, including the last three ladies to win the title, Kristin Latt, Catrina Allen and Arkansas’s own Kat Mertsch.

The MPO field will also feature some of the best players from both sides of the pond with players from 23 different states as well as players from Estonia, Finland and Belize.
