Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — April 29, 2025 — A Jonesboro-based nonprofit will be hosting its first fundraising event, the Cinco de Mayo Pre-Fiesta, this weekend.
Hosted by Anaya’s Way Immigration Advocates, the free event will feature several activities, including vendors, raffles, food trucks, a mechanical bull and more. Vendor spots are $50 and food truck spots are $85. All food trucks or vendors must be signed up by 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 1.
Anaya’s Way executive director Elna June, who is also a Department of Justice representative for immigration law, said the fiesta is about more than fun. It is also a fundraising event for the organization, which is dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence and human trafficking in the United States and provides immigration assistance.
“This is why we’re doing the fundraising. We want to not only bring awareness that we’re here to help, but also there are people who want to help, there are people who want to donate and this is an avenue for them to do so,” June said.
The nonprofit has existed since 2017, however, it opened to the public in January.
“We finally got a place because we felt like this is the time,” June said. “God has retained this to be the time for us to be visible for people to know we’re here to exist within the community and we’ve already helped so many people.”
The fiesta will be held May 4 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at The Marketplace parking lot, located at 1515 Marketplace Drive.
