Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — June 23, 2025 — A Jonesboro man previously accused of grooming a child is facing new charges, including possessing matter depicting sexual conduct involving a child.
While standing before Judge Tommy Fowler on Monday, 43-year-old Kevyn Bowen was charged with one count of video voyeurism and one count of distributing, possessing, or viewing matter depicting sexual conduct involving a child.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Bowen was taken into custody on May 23 after Fowler signed a bench warrant for his arrest on the grooming charge. Detectives conducted a Mirandized interview with Bowen, in which he “admitted to communicating with the Juvenile Victim in a sexual manner via cell phone and also other incriminating statements that confirmed what Detectives had discovered thus far.”
Detectives later obtained a search warrant for Bowen’s phone and found nude images of the victim in a bathroom thought to be Bowen’s former residence. The affidavit said they found more images depicting another nude juvenile victim. Detectives also found images of adult women with no shirts on, according to the affidavit.
Detectives did not believe that any of the victims were aware they were being recorded, the affidavit said. They obtained an additional search warrant for Bowen’s phone and took him into custody on June 18. He’d previously been released on bond following the May grooming charges.
The affidavit said a search warrant was obtained for Bowen’s home, in which detectives found two hidden cameras, one of them being in a juvenile victim’s room, who said they were not aware of the device. They also determined the bathroom was where the adult victims had been recorded.
Bowen had been given a temporary $100,000 cash or surety bond last week. Fowler maintained that bond amount. Bowen’s next court date is set for July 31.
A mugshot of Bowen was not available on the Craighead County Detention Center website.
