Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – A Jonesboro man is being held on a $1 million cash/surety bond after police said he lured multiple victims through Facebook Marketplace into armed robbery traps over the holidays.
According to the probable cause affidavit, on Dec. 24, 2025, a victim arrived at the Jonesboro Police Department to file a report of an attempted robbery. The victim explained they tried to buy a PlayStation 5 video game console on Facebook Marketplace and were given an address on Estates Boulevard to complete the transaction with someone known as “Drip Vel.”
The victim said that when they got there, they asked the subject to show them the console, but the man pulled out an assault rifle to rob him. The victim then ran back to their vehicle and quickly got away without being harmed or losing any money.
Police investigated the social media accounts linked to the Marketplace listing and the address for the transaction. The victim was able to identify the man seen on Drip Vel’s Facebook and Instagram accounts, and known subjects related to the Estates Boulevard address. It was soon determined that 23-year-old Kaleb Jamaal Valentine was the suspect, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Dec. 31, 2025, a second victim was advised of an aggravated robbery at an address on Gwen Street. The same Facebook Marketplace listing from the Drip Vel account used by Valentine was provided. The affidavit said the victim arrived, talked about the console, then an assault rifle was pulled out, and payment was demanded at gunpoint. This victim was also successful in getting out without any harm.
A third victim came forward on Jan. 3 about an aggravated robbery on Estates Boulevard. The victim told police about a Facebook Marketplace listing for a PlayStation 5 for $250, this time having a profile with the name of “Jamal Brown” on it. It was seen that the account was made in 2025 and had no photos or personal information on it. The victim then described the exact same events as the previous incidents. However, the affidavit said that the victim gave Valentine the $250 and ran off.
The online jail roster said that Valentine was arrested later that evening at 8:13 p.m.
Valentine appeared before Circuit Judge Barbara Halsey on Jan. 5, who found probable cause to charge him with one count of aggravated robbery, a class Y felony, and two counts of criminal attempt, a class A felony.
In addition to the $1 million bond, Valentine was ordered to wear a GPS ankle monitor upon release. He also must not have any guns with him or in his home.
Valentine’s next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 27.
UPDATE (Jan. 7, 2026) – According to online court records, Valentine was released from the Craighead County jail on Jan. 6 at 3:55 p.m.
