Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Nov. 18, 2024 – A Jonesboro man was given a $500,000 bond after being charged with impersonating a police officer at multiple Jonesboro schools.

Demillion Pippin, 20, visited both Jonesboro High School and Success School on Nov. 13, where he reportedly presented himself as a law enforcement officer.

At Jonesboro High School, Pippin identified himself as a federal officer with a K-9. According to the probable cause affidavit, Pippin wore tactical gear, including a vest with law enforcement style patches and a duty belt with a gun.

At Success School, Pippin reportedly said he was a federal agent but then claimed to be “SC security officer” preparing to obtain a federal license for courthouse security. A school resource officer questioned Pippin about his law enforcement affiliation, to which he provided inconsistent answers.

Pippin had been reportedly making claims about being a federal agent at both schools and was dressed in the same gear.

Jonesboro police contacted Pippin, who appeared at the department for an interview. According to his probable cause affidavit, Pippin spontaneously said “I didn’t say I was a federal agent,” before police disclosed any allegations.

Jonesboro police noted that Pippin had several inconsistences in his formal interview.

Pippin said he was wearing a tactical vest but denied carrying a firearm while visiting United Police Supply and Jonesboro High School. However, video evidence confirmed he both wore the vest and carried a weapon.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Pippin said he held a Commissioned Security Officer (CSO) license in Tennesse, but never provided documentation.

Later, he told officers he held a valid Arkansas security license, although Arkansas State Police (ASP) confirmed his license was invalid due to termination form his previous employer two years ago. ASP added that Pippin never held any commissioned security licenses in Arkansas.

Pippin later told officers he worked at a store in Jonesboro as an armed security officer without a license. Officers contacted the store, who said Pippin recently came to their store dressed in law enforcement attire and would work security for them. The store added that when they asked Pippin if he was still working in security, he told them he was “federal now.”

Officers obtained a search warrant on Pippin’s vehicle and found the following:

  • A tactical vest labelled with “C.S. Officer” and “K-9 Unit” patches
  • A duty belt with a holster, handcuffs and baton
  • Two Airsoft guns matching descriptions from witnesses and video footage
  • A reflective green jacket
  • A metal badge and plastic star badge
  • Two laptops embedded in the vest, which appeared to be used as ballistic plates

“Pippin knowingly and intentionally committed the offense of Criminal Impersonation in the First Degree on three separate occasions,” his probable cause affidavit read. “His actions endangered public trust and created the false perception of legitimate law enforcement authority.”

Pippin said he “does dumb stuff.”

Pippin was charged with three counts of first degree criminal impersonation. He was given a court date of Jan. 24, 2025, at 8:30 a.m and a $500,000 cash or surety bond. If he makes bond, he will be required to wear a GPS ankle monitor and have no contact with any schools in the Jonesboro Public School system. He is being held at the Craighead County Detention Center.
