Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — July 11, 2025 — A Jonesboro man is behind bars on a $300,000 cash/surety bond after police said he violated his no-contact order, raped a victim and sent them threatening text messages.

According to an affidavit, on July 9, Jonesboro police officers responded to an address on Main Street for a no-contact order violation. There, they found 32-year-old Kody William Prine, where he was arrested and taken to the Craighead County Detention Center.

An officer spoke with the victim, who said they were too afraid to call for police out of fear of what Prine would do. They explained that on the previous day, Prine was threatening to have sex with them against their will.

Text messages of the conversation with Prine were shown to the officer, with one of the messages reading, “You say that now until I flip you over and make you take it,” the affidavit said.

The victim said later that night, they were lying in bed when Prine walked in wearing a towel and lay down on them. At that point, Prine began caressing the victim’s face, neck, and shoulder area to get close. The victim then told Prine to get up and he complied.

The victim then told the officer that Prine began to sexually violate them without their permission and said “no” to Prine, causing him to stop, get up, and then he started slamming doors as if he was angry, the affidavit said. Prine sent text messages to the victim, saying “he guesses [they] got what [they] wanted.”

Judge Barbara Halsey found probable cause July 11 to charge Prine with rape. In addition to his $300,000 bond, Prine was given another order to have no contact with the victim.

Prine’s next court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 21.
