Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — May 20, 2025 — Agents with the East Arkansas Fugitive Task Force arrested a Jonesboro man after a standoff at a residence on Pacific Road.

According to the probable cause affidavit, agents conducting surveillance on 44-year-old Joseph Jackson saw him place something into the trunk of a Nissan Versa—the same vehicle he was arrested in on March 6, 2025. Jackson had multiple felony warrants and was on active probation with a signed search waiver, the affidavit noted.

When officers approached the home, they identified themselves and ordered Jackson to come out. After receiving no response, they forced entry.

According to the affidavit, Jackson was found hiding in a bathtub and refused to comply with verbal commands. A police K9 was deployed, and while the dog bit Jackson’s foot, he allegedly struck the animal several times in the head, snout, and neck.

Agents tried to restrain Jackson, who continued resisting arrest. A taser was deployed, but he still refused to comply, keeping his right arm under his chest to avoid being handcuffed, the affidavit said. A second taser deployment was required to subdue him.

During a probation search of Jackson’s bedroom, investigators found used glass pipes, bongs with suspected meth residue, and several glass jars. He was charged with possession of meth/cocaine and drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, and injuring a law enforcement animal.

Jackson’s bond was set at $250,000 cash/surety. He is required to wear an ankle monitor and is scheduled to appear in court on June 27.
