Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — April 2, 2025 — A Jonesboro man is being held on a $150,000 cash/surety bond after police said he was found in possession of marijuana and a loaded firearm.
According to an affidavit, on March 30, officer Scott Martin stopped a car from driving left of the center lane and made contact with the driver, 24-year-old Kendrayle Demarcus Woods.
While talking to Woods, Martin could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and asked Woods and two passengers to step out of the vehicle. While getting out, Woods told the officer he had a firearm on him, which was later found to be loaded with one round in the chamber.
During a search of the vehicle, Martin found a black bag containing 24 grams of marijuana, the affidavit said. Additionally, Woods was found to have $1,024 on him. He was arrested shortly after, while the two passengers were released.
On April 2, Craighead County Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge Woods with possession of a Schedule VI substance with the purpose to deliver, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, driving while license is cancelled, suspended, or revoked, and driving left of the center lane.
Woods’ next court appearance is scheduled for May 22.
