Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Jan. 9, 2025 – Jonesboro police recently responded to a Walgreens regarding an assault/battery report.
The victim told officers that her husband, 45-year-old Antonio Contreras, attacked her at their home. She had just sold her mother’s vehicle and Contreras demanded money from her.
When she said no, he allegedly attacked her, holding her on the bed by choking her with both hands. She told officers she was unable to breathe. Contreras also allegedly struck the victim. She got out of the house, went to the Walgreens location and called the police.
Contreras was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and domestic battery. His bond has been set at $35,000 cash or surety and his court date is Jan. 28.
