Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – March 7, 2025 – A Jonesboro man is being held on a $250,000 cash/surety bond after police said he sexually assaulted a juvenile. According to the probable cause affidavit, on Jan. 27, a Jonesboro police officer took a report of allegations of tracking on a juvenile.

During an interview with investigators, the victim said they were at a party drinking and went outside when they came across 37-year-old Charles Edward Morris who offered them a ride home.

The affidavit stated the victim passed out during the ride, and when they woke up, they found Morris touching them inappropriately. The victim said when Morris noticed them awake, he quickly stopped. When interviewed about the incident, Morris denied the allegations but said that he had been confronted by the victim’s family prior to when the incident occurred. However, the police were not notified, according to the affidavit.

An arrest warrant for Morris was issued by Craighead County Judge Tommy Fowler, and Morris was arrested March 6.

On March 7, Judge Fowler found probable cause to charge Morris with second-degree sexual assault. He also ordered Morris to have no contact with the victim upon release.

Morris’ next court appearance is scheduled for April 24.
