Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — June 27, 2025 — Police arrested a Jonesboro man after they said a child told them he had touched them inappropriately.
Craighead County Judge David Boling found probable cause on June 27 to charge 43-year-old Christopher Leroy Carter with sexual indecency with a child.
According to the affidavit, on June 1, a woman told police that her child said they were being sexually touched by Carter.
The victim told police that Carter would rub their back and stomach under their shirt, and one day, he slid his hand down the back of their pants and began massaging their bottom under their clothes. The affidavit said the victim pulled away, and Carter was poking them in the back of the leg “with something hard,” and the victim said they “thought it was his privates but not for sure.”
In an interview with police, Carter admitted to rubbing the victim’s back and stomach but denied touching them inappropriately. He also admitted to the two often cuddling in bed and napping together, and that the victim lay on Carter’s chest, and he wrapped his arms around them and rubbed on them.
Carter was arrested June 24 after Judge Tommy Fowler issued an arrest warrant.
In addition to a $25,000 cash/surety bond, Boling ordered Carter to have no contact with the victim.
Carter was released Friday, according to the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office. He is awaiting his next court appearance on July 31.
Carter’s mugshot was not available on the Craighead County Detention Center website.
