Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — April 4, 2025 — Police arrested a Jonesboro man after they said they found he was in possession of child sexual abuse material and uploaded it online.
According to an affidavit, on Jan. 29, the Jonesboro Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children division received multiple tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about child exploitation being uploaded on two Kik accounts.
Because the accounts had different usernames and email addresses, a warrant was served to Yahoo, which provided the same phone number for both accounts. That number belonged to 50-year-old Phillip Robert Briner.
Police said they were able to obtain the images and videos from Kik through a search warrant. The materials contained sexual content that included Briner exposing himself, and multiple juveniles being nude or having sex with adults. Police were able to identify Briner in the pictures and videos.
A search warrant was conducted on April 3 at Briner’s home, leading to his arrest.
On April 4, a judge found probable cause to charge Briner with possession or use of child sexual abuse material.
Briner is being held in the Craighead County Detention Center on a $75,000 cash/surety bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 22.
