Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Feb. 21, 2025 – A Jonesboro man previously charged with rape has been accused of possessing material depicting sexual conduct involving children.
Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause on Friday to charge 52-year-old William Yarbrough with one count of distribute/possess/viewing matter depicting sexual conduct involving a child, a Class C felony. Class C felonies carry up to a $10,000 fine and/or three to 10 years in prison.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Detective Logan Butler was contacted by the prosecutor’s office about a meeting they’d recently had with Yarbrough’s victims in a previous case. While the prosecutors were speaking with the victims, they said they believed there might be more images similar to the ones Yarbrough had previously sent them.
Yarbrough was charged with one count of rape and one count of sexual assault in May 2024. The charges are still pending, according to court documents.
On Feb. 7, a search warrant was signed for Yarbrough’s phone and computer, and officers searched his phone. They found multiple images of girls aged approximately 12 to 16 either in the nude or engaging in sexual acts, the probable cause affidavit said.
Fowler set bond at $150,000 cash-only due to Yarbrough’s previous rape charge. He is also to have no access to the internet on any device. His next court date is April 24 and he’s being held in the Craighead County Detention Center.
