Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – Court documents show that despite an active no-contact order stemming from a prior incident, a Jonesboro man was caught on camera burglarizing his ex-girlfriend’s home while she was away.

On March 25, a Jonesboro woman reported a residential burglary to police, stating that $1,048 in items was stolen while she was out of town. The stolen property included a spare set of house keys and a garage door opener, raising concerns that the suspect intended to re-enter the home at a later time.

The victim later provided investigators with home security footage from March 22. The video showed her ex-boyfriend, 45-year-old Terrance Jamar Winters, entering the home and remaining inside for roughly two hours.

According to the probable cause affidavit, after Winters entered the home, the interior lights turned on, and the garage door opened. Winters was then seen exiting the home, closing the garage door, and backing his vehicle closer to the residence. After opening his vehicle’s rear hatch, Winters walked back and forth to the house, loading the victim’s belongings into his car.

A records check confirmed that an active no-contact order was in place between the victim and Winters at the time of the burglary, stemming from a domestic-related incident on March 5.

Winters was arrested on April 15, according to the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office jail roster. He appeared before Judge Barbara Halsey two days later, where she found probable cause to charge him with residential burglary (a Class B felony), theft of property greater than $1,000 but less than $5,000 (a Class D felony), and violation of a no-contact order.

Halsey set Winters’ bond at $150,000 and ordered the no-contact order to remain in effect. If released, he is required to wear a GPS ankle monitor. Winters’ next court appearance is scheduled for June 26. If convicted on all charges, he faces up to 26 years in prison and $25,000 in fines.
