Jonesboro, AR – Contributed – The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library is launching a new monthly program, the Creative Writers’ Workshop, beginning Saturday, June 13, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Civic League Room.

This adult-only program (ages 21 and up) is designed to support writers at all stages by focusing not only on writing itself, but on the writer’s journey. Sessions will explore motivation, idea development, creative challenges, and building sustainable writing habits.

While the workshop centers on creative writing, nonfiction writers are also welcome. Participants will discuss genres, literary themes, and the craft of writing, along with opportunities to share experiences and connect with others pursuing similar goals. The program emphasizes community, encouragement, and growth in a supportive environment.

“This workshop is about more than writing on the page, it’s about supporting the writer behind the words. We want to create a space where people can share their journey, explore ideas, and feel encouraged in their creative process,” said Vanessa Adams, Library Director.

The Creative Writers’ Workshop will meet monthly on the second Saturday.
