Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – The Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library announced two new community food pantries on Friday.

According to a news release from the library, the pantries are part of the library’s effort to support area families and provide more accessible resources to the community. They are manufactured and donated by Best Manufacturing.

“The library is more than just a place for books; it’s a cornerstone of community support,” said library director Vanessa Adams in the release. “We’re grateful to Best Manufacturing for coming to us and making this vision a reality and to our patrons, whom we love to serve.”

The two pantries are behind the Security Desk and Teenhub Area, respectively. They are designed to help families with immediate food needs. People can take three to four items at a time.

The teen pantry is designated for “youth-friendly” snacks, such as granola bars, fruit cup and crackers, the release said.

Donations for the pantries will be accepted year-round. Suggested donations include canned goods, pasta, cereal, oatmeal, snack bars, and other non-perishable foods. Donations can be dropped off at the main circulation desk during the library’s operating hours.

The library is located at 315 W. Oak Ave. For more information, visit the library’s websiteFacebook page, or call 870-935-5133.
