Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – A convicted Jonesboro felon is being held on a $250,000 cash/surety bond after agents said a domestic disturbance led to a probation search, uncovering over 400 grams of marijuana, multiple loaded weapons, among other items.

District Judge David Boling found probable cause on Dec. 12 to charge 29-year-old Tobias Jerrell Williams with the following:

  • Class Y Felony: Simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms
  • Class B Felony: Possession of a firearm by certain persons (prior violent felony with a deadly weapon)
  • Class C Felony: Possession of a Schedule VI substance with the purpose to deliver
  • Class C Felony: Possession of a Schedule I or II substance (not meth or cocaine) with the purpose to deliver
  • Class D Felony: Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Class A Misdemeanor: First-degree assault on a family or household member

According to the affidavit, on Dec. 11, Special Agent Chris Jefferson of the Second Judicial Drug Task Force was driving when he saw several people standing in a parking lot in the 3000 block of Dayton Avenue.

There, he saw Williams and a 25-year-old woman having a dispute. Jefferson saw the woman enter the passenger side of a vehicle and began to drive off.

The agent said that, while the vehicle was pulling away, Williams and the woman continued arguing. At some point, the vehicle came to an abrupt stop, with the woman exiting the vehicle and engaging in a hostile confrontation with Williams.

Williams then cornered the woman in the car door and grabbed her by the hair, attempting to pull her head down to her knees. The woman then struck Williams in the face, and Williams began hitting the woman with a closed fist in her face, side, and stomach.

The affidavit said two men pulled Williams away from the woman, but he attempted to get back to her. Jefferson intervened and took Williams and the woman into custody. He noted that Williams had a small cut under his right eye from the fight; the woman did not have any visible injuries.

Jefferson said Williams was known to be on felony probation with a search waiver on file, and that he was living at a home with another person. Williams tried to throw the person his car key, and they attempted to walk back to the home before Jefferson stopped them from entering the home until a probation search was conducted. Jefferson also found a baggie containing 43.6 grams of marijuana inside Williams’ vehicle.

A probation search was conducted, with several items found by Jefferson and Agent Bryan Bailey, including a digital scale, another baggie containing marijuana (amount unknown), an AR-style rifle, and an extended 9mm pistol magazine. Because of this, a search warrant was prepared by Jefferson and signed by Boling.

The affidavit stated that during a search of the entire home, agents found the following items:

  • A vacuum-sealed package containing 224 grams of marijuana
  • 64 Ecstasy pills inside a mason jar
  • Multiple baggies containing 146.9 grams of marijuana
  • Two digital scales, each with marijuana residue on them
  • A loaded Taurus 38 special revolver
  • A loaded 9mm Taurus pistol
  • A loaded .223 10-round rifle magazine

The affidavit said Williams is a convicted felon and is prohibited from having a firearm. Boling mentioned that Williams pled guilty in another case in 2023, resulting in 60 months of suspended imposition of a sentence.

Due to his history and this being the third Class Y felony for Williams in 10 years, once in 2021, and another instance in 2022, this resulted in Williams getting a $250,000 cash/surety bond. Boling also ordered Williams to have no contact with the victim.

Williams’ next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 23, 2026.

According to the online jail roster, the woman involved in the initial altercation is also being held on a third-degree domestic battering charge (multiple offenses within five years). She was given a $5,000 bond.
