Stuttgart, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Feb. 4, 2025 – The Jonesboro Advertising & Promotion Commission won the Arkansas Delta Byways Tourism Support and Promotion award Friday night, Jan. 31, at the Arkansas Delta Byways Annual Banquet in Stuttgart.
The Award is presented annually to a business, organization, or group that has contributed significantly to promote tourism in the 15-county Arkansas Delta Byways region.
“It is a tremendous honor to take home this award because it represents the work of so many people.” said Craig Rickert, executive director of the Jonesboro Advertising & Promotion Commission.
The Jonesboro A&P took center stage in 2024 for hosting the 50th Annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism. The event in late February was a huge undertaking that saw over 400 people attend the conference in Jonesboro for three days. It was a significant factor in the Jonesboro A&P taking home the award.
During the award presentation, it was stated that the Governor’s Conference was “a massive effort which required months of engagement with community partners. The result was worth it. From an opening concert on Sunday night to excursions out into the community to a wonderful Taste of Downtown Jonesboro evening event, attendees at the conference experienced the hospitality of the Delta.”
“It couldn’t have gone better at GOVCON,” Rickert said, “the teamwork it took to prepare for and conduct the event shows that nobody does hospitality better than the people of Jonesboro. We showed people from all over the state and the country that Jonesboro is a special place. This is an award for the entire city of Jonesboro.”
