Jimmy Richard Pruitt, 86, of Osceola, Arkansas passed away from this life on Thursday, April 18, 2024. He was born on February 21, 1938.

 Jim was a 1957 graduate of Missco High School in West Ridge, Arkansas.  He served in the United States Army, Military Police Unit from 1958 to 1962.  Jim was a 1968 graduate of Arkansas State University with a BS degree in accounting.   He attended Etowah Baptist Church for the past thirty-five years.  He was a man of all seasons, a poet and writer, an avid reader of all things historical, a builder, carpenter, mechanic, truck driver and farmer.  His happiest times was in an airplane.  He was a free spirit.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of sixty-one years: Linda (Lou) Tramel Pruitt, two sons: Dr. Jamon Richard Pruitt (Crystal) of Springdale, Arkansas and Dane Edward Pruitt (Jan) of Ferndale, Arkansas, two sisters: Peggy Sheffield of Pocatello, Idaho and Patsy Kimbrell (Woody) of North Little Rock, Arkansas, one sister-in-law: Cyndi Pruitt of Fort Smith, Arkansas, six grandchildren: Jonathan Vance (Whitney), Garrison Vigil, Ashton Goode (Trey), Emma Pruitt, Lauren Pruitt, and Lexi Pruitt, one great grandson: Jaden Vance and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Jess and Inez Low Pruitt, one sister: Celeste Maudine Griffith, two brothers: Teddy G. Pruitt and Jerry D. Pruitt.

A funeral service will be held at Etowah Baptist Church, Etowah, Arkansas on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. and visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. til service time.

Interment will follow in Garden Point Cemetery, Etowah, Arkansas

Brother Danny Helms, Jr. and Brother James Stokes will officiate the service.

Pallbearers will be: Jason Pruitt, Trent Tucker, Jonathan Vance, Raymond Henard, Bobby Holland and Keith Stokes.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Bo McCullom, Jimmy Russell, Boat Girdley, Jr., Gary Tippy, Dewey Barnes and Mason Sheffield.
