Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Oct. 1, 2024 – Families and pets are welcome to join the fun as the Volunteer Council of the Jonesboro Human Development Center (JHDC) hosts the third annual Walk-Run-Roll-a-Thon Family and Pet Walk on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Jonesboro Human Development Center, 4701 Colony Dr. in Jonesboro.
JHDC takes registration up to the date, but registering early guarantees a T-shirt for the walk. There will be some extra T-shirts ordered for late entry.

The registration fee is $30. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 9 a.m. in front of the JHDC Administration building on Colony Dr. and concludes at the JHDC Park with activities for children of all ages, snacks and entertainment. The walk is about one mile.
The Walk-Run-Roll-a-Thon, along with other fundraisers, is hosted by the JHDC Volunteer Council.
“The Volunteer Council makes sure all the needs of the resident are provided in emergency situations; all residents can participate with off-campus activities and along with providing funds for center-wide events for residents,” said JHDC administrative analyst Cynthia Wilson.” Those are a few examples because the volunteer council does so much more. All the fundraisers by the Volunteer Council are set up to encourage and empower as well as bring awareness to individuals with an intellectual disability.”
“The Volunteer Council uses this money raiser to assist with different events and activities for the residents,” Wilson added. “We do hope to raise enough one day to build a parent home, so when loved ones want to visit their relative, they can reserve a stay without the cost, or the worry of hotel fees.”
