Jerry Ervin Watts, 79, passes away on October 7, 2024. Born on March 3, 1945 in Baldwin, MS. Jerry was a cherished figure among his family and friends, known for his smile and warm presence. He loved to fellowship with others to share stories and reminisce.

Jerry graduated from Bay High School and retired after 30 years from the Singer Company in Trumann. He coached the Bay Elementary girls basketball team from 1983-1986 and girls softball teams for many years.

He was a deacon at Windover Baptist Church and loved being a member of the adult Sunday morning class where actively participated in various church activities.

A true family man, Jerry was often found surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Linda Watts of 54 years; daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Rob Hester; granddaughter, Olivia Hester; sister, Linda Jane Hancock; and his beloved cat Scout. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Christine Watts; sister Iris Taylor; and brother, A.C. Watts.

Jerry had a passion for sports, particularly cheering for the Razorbacks. He was an avid fan of Dolly Parton and Elvis. He never missed a chance to watch his granddaughter dance, which brought him immense joy.

Proud to serve as pallbearers are Caleb Farley, Jimmy Farley, Luke Hamilton, Jackie Hancock, Shane Hutchison and James McMasters. Honorary Pallbearers include: Joel McMasters, Ronnie McMasters, Larry Norwood, Gary Smith and Ron Taylor.

A Service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, under the direction of Gregg-Langford Bookout. Visitation will at Windover Baptist Church from 1:00-2:45 with the funeral commencing at 3:00 and burial to follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park. He will be fondly remembered for his generous spirit, love of life, and the joy he brought to those around him.
