Jerry Allen Little, a cherished soul, known for his light-hearted spirit, handy skills, and boundless love, passed away on September 24, 2024, in St. Louis, Missouri. Born April 21, 1960, in Kennett, Missouri, Jerry’s journey through life was marked by his dedication to family, country, and the simple joys that make life worth living.
Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army, a testament to his commitment to service and the values he held dear. After his military tenure, he transitioned to an auto mechanic and later a successful career in the trucking industry, from which he eventually retired. His work ethic and dedication to his profession were as steadfast as his commitment to his loved ones.
Those who knew Jerry understood his passion for life’s simple pleasures. He was often found watching television, a pastime that allowed him moments of relaxation and entertainment. Jerry had a knack for projects, a hobby that not only showcased his handy nature but also served as a conduit for his creative expression. He was the go-to person for fixing anything that needed repair, and he took great satisfaction in solving problems for others.
Jerry loved spending time with his family. He cherished every moment spent around the dinner table, sharing stories, laughter, and the warmth of togetherness. His presence at family gatherings was a source of joy and comfort; and his absence will be deeply felt.
Jerry was preceded in death by a lineage of strong family bonds, including his maternal grandparents, Hilman and Thelma Hommel, paternal grandparents, Vernon and Ruth Little, his father, Denver Little, his uncle, Jim Little, and his aunt, Nell Vaughn. His legacy continues through his devoted mother, Earline Little of Kennett, his loving son, David Little of Houston, Texas, and his three adoring daughters, Jennifer Little and JoAnn Trowbridge, both of Paragould, and Janet Beck of Nimmons. His grandchildren, Averi Little, Erica Burnett, Trysta Bradshaw, Talon Bradshaw, August Ward and Savannah Beck; as well as his great-grandchildren, Zaylie Higgins and Everly Pumphery. Jerry is also survived by his uncle, Sonny Hommel, and a host of special relatives and friends who were touched by his generous spirit.
We will gather to honor the life and legacy of Jerry, remembering the laughter, wisdom, and love he shared with each of us. As we bid farewell, we celebrate the indelible mark he has left on our hearts. His story does not end here, for in our memories he leaves behind, Jerry will forever be a guiding light in the lives of those he loved. His memory will continue to guide and inspire us.
