Jan Beeson, 84, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on October 8, 2024, at St. Bernards Medical Center. Â He had lived in Jonesboro since 1973 moving here from Harrisburg. Â He was born on April 8, 1940, in Cross Roads, Arkansas, to Herman and Opal Beeson. Â He was a member of the Valley View Church of Christ. Â Jan was the owner/operator of Beeson Sanitation until his retirement, when his son, Kurt, took over the business. Â He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force, during the Vietnam War. Â One of his many hobbies included restoring old cars and showcasing his creations. Â His woodworking skills were incredible, and the family has many items he made over the years. Â Jan was not only a family man, but he was the singer of the family. Â He always had a song in his heart that he would happily share. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carroll Beeson, and a grandson, Dakota Kincaid.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Donna, of the home; Â son, Kurt Beeson(Shannon) of Jonesboro; daughters, Kristen Hubble of Nashville, Tennessee; Kami Barkley of Mountain Home; brothers, Bill Beeson(Gena) of Nashville; Darrell Beeson(Jimmie) of Selmer, Tennessee; Mike Beeson(Judy) of Jonesboro; Gary Beeson(Sherrie) of Mount Vernon, Arkansas; sister, Sharon Pugh(Charles) of Parkersburg, West Virginia; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A memorial Celebration of Life service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Spencer Furby officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The burial will be private. Visitation will be from 9:00 until service time.
