James Lee Stafford, 86, of Pocahontas passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024 at his home.

He was born August 10, 1938 in Biggers to the late Cecil Neil and Edith Lorene Reed Stafford.  James worked as a farmer, operated a road grader for the Randolph County Road Department, and worked for the Brown Shoe and Skil factories.  He was a member of Reyno First Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Edith Stafford; sister, Joyce Rose; sons, Anthony and Kenneth Stafford; and great grandchildren, Kenneth D. Stafford and Lucky Boshears.

James is survived by his wife, Clara Ellen Durbin Stafford, sons, David “Trish” Stafford of Pocahontas and James Steven Stafford of Pocahontas; daughters, Debra Williams of Supply, Carla Oetjen of Biggers, Pamela “E.F.” Goodrum of Pocahontas, Sandy “James” O’Dell of Stokes and Sheila “Stan” O’Dell of Stokes; twenty-three grandchildren, LeEllen, T.J., Joshua, Jeffery, Matthew, Gregory, Edward, Ashley, Mary, Anthony, Andy, Tyler, Heather, Destiny, Rickey, B.J., Laura, Shawn, James, Tiffany, David, Brianna, and Chassity; twenty-seven great grandchildren, Morgan, Dylan, Kalila, Tempe, Jackson, Abby, Hensley, Ethan, Niklaus, Abigail, Maddson, Nataline, Raylynn, Hunter, Tyler, Bradon, Bradley, Jacob, Kateleigh, Kynli, Gypsee, Reese, Riley, Bentley, Natalie, Chasity, Daryn, Haven, Hunter, Xavier, Annaliah, and Kelly; two great-great grandchildren, Asher and Cooper; sister, Bonnie Smith of St. Louis, MO, and many other relatives and friends.

Cremation has been chosen at the method of final disposition under direction of McNabb Funeral Home.  No services are scheduled at this time.
