James “Jim” Johnson, 72, of Jonesboro, died Monday, November 11, 2024. He had lived in Jonesboro for ten years, moving here from Paragould. He was born in Paragould on February 23, 1952, to Cecil and Freda Johnson.  He served his country honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He was a talker and enjoyed being with friends.  He had a green thumb and always had the best flowers and vegetables in the neighborhood.  He was always willing to share with friends and family.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings.

Survivors include his daughter Amanda Jane Johnson (Angel Smothers) of Jonesboro; brother, Ben Johnson of Eastwood, Missouri; sisters, Helen Morgan of Eastwood; Mary Ellen Cox of Arnold, Missouri; Venus “Sissy” Allen of Paragould; three grandchildren, Jayden, Madison, and Amiah.
