James David Moore, 89, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at St. Bernards Medical Center.

   David was born on February 27, 1935, in Jonesboro to the late Glen and Lola Moore.  He graduated from Nettleton High School and was a member of Nettleton Baptist Church.  He married the love of his life, Helen Elizabeth Duke, on January 15, 1955.  David was a hard worker and devoted family man.  He was employed by General Electric for many years until he established his own business known as David’s Jewelry.  David had a lot of customers that he was thankful for and some of them also became close friends.  He loved to fish for catfish when he wasn’t working and often brought his family and friends a “whole mess to eat!”

   In addition to his parents, David was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Helen Moore; his brother, Don Moore; his sister, Martha Ann Neal; and infant brother, Buddy Moore.

David is survived by his daughter, Lisa (Mike) Phillips; grandsons, Jason Phillips, Brandon Phillips, and Jordan Phillips; great-grandchildren, Kendall Phillips, Lane Phillips, and Grayson Phillips; sisters, Wanda (Bill) Flemon, Pat Woodall, and Sue (Eddie) Robinett; and several nieces and nephews.

   A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 14, at Gregg-Langford-Bookout Funeral Home.  Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. and service at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Stan Ballard officiating.
