Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — April 27, 2025 — A Jonesboro woman faces multiple charges after police said she smashed a meth pipe when an officer told her to put it back and was found with drugs during booking.

According to an affidavit, on April 23, a Jonesboro police officer turned onto West Huntington Avenue when he saw a woman walking on the street and a man on a bicycle near the intersection at Gee Street, impeding traffic.

The officer told her she had a warrant for her arrest and instructed her to put her belongings on his patrol vehicle’s hood. According to the affidavit, the woman then took a piece of paper towel wrapped around a glass pipe from her purse and said, “I’m going to be honest with you. I have this, but it’s not mine.”

The affidavit stated that the officer realized the item was a meth pipe and told the woman to put it back in her purse. However, the woman then said, “If you ain’t gonna take it, then I’m gonna destroy it,” and reportedly slammed the pipe on the pavement, shattering it “so badly” that the pieces could not be gathered.

She was placed into custody and taken to her home on Puryear Street for a parole search, where 15 grams of an unknown substance were found next to an open baggie. She was then taken to the Craighead County Detention Center to be booked.

While booking officers were searching the woman’s belongings before admission, they found a plastic baggie in her purse containing 0.2 grams of a combination of fentanyl and meth. The substances were later confirmed through a field test.

On April 25, Craighead County Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge the woman with possession of fentanyl (possession with the purpose to deliver – delivery/manufacture), possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with physical evidence.

She’s being held on a $25,000 cash/surety bond. Her next scheduled court appearance is on May 22.
