Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Hope Found of Northeast Arkansas is planning its sixth annual Date Night with a Purpose set for the end of January.

Date Night with a Purpose aims to raise funds for the nonprofit and increase awareness about human trafficking. The “date night” features a four-course dinner for two people. Tickets are $125 and can be purchased here.

“It’s a dining experience that you get to enjoy from the comfort of your own home,” said Megan Brown, cofounder and executive director of Hope Found of Northeast Arkansas. “A ticket includes a four-course meal for two, and it gets delivered to your door in an insulated delivery bag, or you have the option of picking it up.”

Hope Found of NEA is a Jonesboro-based nonprofit that provides education about human trafficking to the public, as well as providing services and advocacy for human trafficking victims.

Southern Confections will be cooking the meals. All meals will include a caesar salad, garlic bread, and a choice of either chocolate or vanilla cake. The entrees available for selection are listed below:

  • Chicken Tuscan pasta with white sauce
  • Creamy garlic butter steak pasta
  • Pasta vegetable primavera with cream sauce (vegetarian option)

Meals will be delivered within a 25-mile radius of Jonesboro from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Jan. 29, or they can be picked up during that time at Southern Confections, located at 2615 E. Nettleton Ave.

Brown said volunteers will be needed to help deliver meals, although the form to sign up has not yet been posted. She said volunteer information will be posted to the nonprofit’s social media pages soon.

When the event first began, it was hosted in the fall. However, Brown said, once the Hope Found of NEA decided to launch its Brewing Hope Coffee Festival, Date Night with a Purpose was moved to January. January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month, which was created to educate the public about human trafficking, according to the U.S. Department of State.

“That’s one of the reasons we chose to do it,” Brown said. “Plus, January is cold, it’s winter, a lot more people like to stay in, so we thought this would be great because it’s a date night and delicious food delivered to your home.”
