Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – May 3, 2025 – The high school graduation season has officially started.

Nettleton High School held commencement for the Raiders’ 2025 graduating class Friday night at the First National Bank Arena on the Arkansas State University campus. The event was the first of eight high school graduations scheduled to be held at FNB Arena.

The Academies of Jonesboro High School held its commencement at the Cookey-Johns Stadium Saturday. An early morning rain dampened the football facility. JHS staff was able to dry seats, and the graduation started on time at 10am.

Today was the final commencement for Jonesboro Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Kim Wilbanks who is retiring after 19 years as the district’s leader. Misty Doyle has been named Wilbanks’ replacement and will being her service as superintendent on July 1, 2025.

Student Council President Isaac Mirafuentes, Valedictorian Luke Baltz and Salutatorian Ganesh Nair spoke prior to the presentation of diplomas.

Valley View graduation is scheduled for 2:00 Sunday afternoon at First National Bank Arena. Bay High School graduation is Sunday afternoon at 2:00. Riverside High School (Lake City) graduation is Sunday afternoon at 2:30. Ridgefield Christian School graduation is Friday, May 9. Brookland graduation is Tuesday, May 13 at 7:00 at FNB Arena. Buffalo Island Central graduation is Tuesday, May 13 at 7:00. Westside graduates Monday, May 19 at 7:00 at FNB Arena.
