Herschel “Jerry” Rothe, 80, of O’Kean departed this life on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center surrounded by family.
Jerry was born April 25, 1943 to the late Herschel and Lela Flanery Rothe in Greene County. Jerry was a truck driver, and member and deacon at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. On May 16, 1964 he was united in marriage to Peggy Binkley.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Lela Rothe.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Peggy Rothe of O’Kean; children, Jeff Rothe of O’Kean, Missy Rothe of O’Kean, and Jeremy Rothe of O’Kean; grandchildren, Justin Jarrett of Maynard, Courtney Adamson of Portia, Gunner Rice of Greenbriar, Jessica Rice of Pocahontas, and Jarah Rothe of O’Kean; great grandchildren, Presley Henson of Portia and Skylar Henson of Portia; aunt, Wanda Bristol of Pocahontas; and many other family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 11 AM-1 PM at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge with a funeral service beginning at 1 PM with Bro. John Durham and Bro. Blake Jamison officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Memorial Park under direction of McNabb Funeral Home.
Those honored to serve as Pallbearers are Tony Anglin, Jay Jones, Derek Rothe, Cheyenne Jones, Marcus Nelson, and Scott Jurs.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dallas Roberts, Tom Temple, and Greg King.
