Herbert L. Wicker, 86, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House.
He was born near Myrtle, Missouri to Nathanial Andrew Wicker and Vertie Lois Armstrong Wicker. Herbert retired from the Jonesboro Fire Department, as a Captain with twenty years of service. He also served in the Arkansas National Guard. He loved to fish and hunt, especially turkey hunt. He like to watch the Arkansas Razorbacks and St. Louis Cardinals.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert, Bobby Joe and W. C. and granddaughter, Courtney Wicker Bridger.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Deloris Wicker; sons, Herbert D. Wicker (Shelly) and Terry Wicker; daughter, Sherry Confer (John); grandchildren, Jarrod Wicker (Rimbey), Zach Albert (Kailey), Tosha Poole (Alan), Ryan Wicker (Eric), Madison Wicker and Vince Wicker; great-grandchildren, Henry, Magnolia, Sadie, Suttyn, Allison, Aubrey, Gavin and Cace and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Kevin Wicker officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with fire department honors.
Visitation will be 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at funeral home.
