Helen June Bennett, 92, of Pocahontas, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024, at Randolph County Nursing Home.
Helen was born on March 6, 1932, to the late Robert and Thelma Jackson Counts in Pocahontas. She was an active member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Pocahontas. She had a distinguished career as head teller for Citizens Bank of Jonesboro and was also a member of the choir at Fisher Street United Methodist Church in Jonesboro. Helen was involved in the Free Will Baptist Church women’s organization and volunteered at the Randolph County Heritage Museum. Above all, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who treasured her family deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Thelma Counts; her husband, Harold Bennett; and her daughter, Jana Peden.
Helen is survived by her children, Michael Bennett and Judith Dement; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm, with Nelson Henderson officiating. Both services will take place at the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Masonic Cemetery.
