Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – October 27, 2024 – He apparently didn’t have a ticket. He apparently snuck into Centennial Bank Stadium. He got past the ticket takers. He got past the security officers. He got past the ushers.
He was the raccoon. The Red Wolf fan raccoon. The raccoon who risked his own life. Entering the stadium. Ticketless. To watch his Red Wolves take on Troy Saturday night.
He found a place to hide. A hole in the grass. On the Southwest side of the stadium.
But it was a bad location. It was a cheap seat. He could only watch the action when the play was on the South end of the field.
When the players moved toward the North end zone, the raccoon couldn’t see. He couldn’t watch. He could hear the action. But he couldn’t see the action.
So, the raccoon thought. “Do I risk it? Do I make a run for it? Do I try to move to get a better view?”
He thought. And he thought some more.
Then, he did it. He made his move. He made a run for it. Across the grass. Toward the South complex.
But the Red Wolf Dance Team spotted him. They yelled at him. They squealed at him.
He was startled. He was scared. He turned and ran back to his little hole. His little hiding place.
This happened a couple of more times. The raccoon making a run for a better seat. A better view.
But, in the end, it became too risky. The raccoon, as much as he wanted to watch his Red Wolves, realized the danger. The potential end of his life. The possible unwanted relocation to another place if he were to get caught
So, he gave up. He folded. He left. Scampering up the grass hill to the fence. And away he went. Off into the Saturday night.
And his Red Wolves? His Red Wolves came from behind and beat Troy. 34-31.
