Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Feb. 20, 2025 – The Rev. Britt Skarda of Little Rock will be the guest preacher this weekend for both services of the First United Methodist Church of Jonesboro, 801 S. Main St.
Skarda retired from active ministry in June 2020 after serving 10 years as senior pastor at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church in Little Rock. However, he came out of retirement in early 2023 to serve for four months as the interim senior pastor of UMC-Jonesboro.
He is filling in this weekend at the invitation of Senior Pastor Dr. Michael Roberts, who is on a mission trip.
Skarda’s message for both services will be “God of the Neglected,” based on Deuteronomy 10.
A native of Des Arc, he received an undergraduate degree from the University of Central Arkansas and a Master of Divinity degree from Duke University. He is the author of a book, “Sabbath Born,” published in 2022.
The church’s contemporary service starts at 9:15 a.m. Sunday in Wesley Hall. A classic service will begin at 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Visitors are welcome.
