Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Feb. 24, 2025 – Jonesboro police recently responded to an address on Parker Road about a vehicle being broken into.
The victim told officers his work tool bag and tablet were both missing. As the officers were gathering information, they noticed footprints in the snow leading toward Hijinx.
A Hijinx employee provided video footage that showed a man walking from the direction of the vehicle break-in. He was wearing a distinctive coat with red, white and blue colors, the probable cause affidavit said.
Another video showed a white minivan with no license plate next to the building. Later, officers received a call from the victim, who said he got a ping from the tablet that showed an address on Allis Street.
Officers went to that address and saw what appeared to be the same white van in the security video. While they were waiting for a search warrant, they saw the van leave the scene. They initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the suspect.
They noticed the same jacket they’d seen the suspect wearing in the video in the van. Officers asked for proof of insurance and the man was unable to produce it. They searched the vehicle and found a small amount of marijuana and the tool bag from the breaking or entering report.
Officers conducted a search warrant at the Allis address and found the stolen tablet.
The man was charged with breaking or entering, theft, possession and no proof of liability insurance. His bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety and his next court date is April 24.
