Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – July 23, 2024 – A 45-year-old Jonesboro man has been charged with the possession of fentanyl with the intent to deliver.
Jason Boyd was pulled over by Jonesboro police after some improper driving on Red Wolf Blvd. He was already on felony probation with a search waiver on file. A K9 officer was called and gave a positive alert on Boyd’s vehicle. Officers located a single fentanyl pill in the passenger door.
After the traffic stop, officers escorted him to the tattoo business that he operates on East Nettleton for an additional search. Inside the business, they found a cellophane baggie with 7.9 ounces of cocaine in it. A digital scale with cocaine residue was also discovered.
The female passenger that was riding in Boyd’s vehicle was also included in the search. She had a backpack that contained a baggie with 21 fentanyl pills and a baggie with 3.5 grams of cocaine. She also had a cocaine-covered digital scale.
Turned out, Boyd was already participating in “Drug Court” during the time of the stop. According to arcourts.gov, “Adult Drug Court is a voluntary, fourteen-to-eighteen month, multi-phase intervention program designed for adults involved in the criminal justice system due to underlying, unmanaged substance use disorders and are at increased risk of reoffending.”
Boyd went before Judge Fowler on Monday and his bond was set at $100,000 cash-only.
