Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – July 17, 2024 – A probable cause hearing was held today for Kendrick Anderson, the man who was at the center of two-hour standoff that shut down Highway 49 B in Brookland Tuesday morning.

Anderson was wanted for misdemeanor fleeing and had a previous warrant out of Mississippi for a probation violation.

He was arrested and placed in the back of a caged patrol car with a plexiglass partition, but he was able to escape through a back window.

Officers saw him running away from the scene with his hands cuffed behind him. One of the officers had a hunch that Anderson might go to a particular address on N Holman, and the hunch was correct.

Inside the house on Holman, officials learned that there were a couple of adults and several children. Anderson had gone to the house and asked the adults to help him get out of the handcuffs. They didn’t help him. Law enforcement was able to get all of the residents out, but Anderson stayed inside.

A search warrant was obtained.

Around the same time, E911 dispatch got a call that there was a man in handcuffs running next to the railroad tracks. It turned out to be Anderson making the call, trying to throw police off-track. That trick didn’t work. Officers entered the home, found Anderson hiding in a bedroom, and arrested him.

His bond was set at $75,000.
