Faye (Mears) May, 78, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away February 2, 2024, at Rector Nursing Home. She was born August 27, 1945, in Yakima, Washington, to the late Herman Mears and Ollie Belle (Hendley) Mears. Faye worked as a nurse’s aide and as the social activities director at Lanes Nursing Home, and had most recently retired from LA Darling. She was also a loving caregiver.
Faye was of the Baptist faith and was member of the Marmaduke First Baptist Church. She loved playing cards and cooking. Most of all, Faye loved visiting with family and friends and spending time with her grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Brenda Sue May; brothers, James Thurman Mears and Larry Robert Mears; nephew, Jim Mears, Jr.; and grandson, Justin May Toone.
Faye leaves behind sons, Robert Michael (Monavee) May and Steve Anderson; daughters, Michele Lee (Mark) Toone and Tina Diane (Steve) Harrelson; brothers, Jerry Mears and Carl Mears, both of Michigan; sisters: Martha (Diddy) Mason, Kaye Garthwaite, both of Michigan, Wanda Hampton, and Linda Finnerfy; grandchildren: Matt (Brittany) May, John (Nicolette) May, Larry Freeman, Kirsten (Chris) Ditto, Sheri (Hayden) May, and Gradi Ellis; great-grandchildren: Chase May, Kaysn May, Elizabeth Ditto, Maddisyn May, and Bella Anderson; and many other special friends and relatives.
A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, February 7, at 1:00 P.M., at Mitchell Funeral Home, with Bro. Kim Bridges officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Ramer’s Chapel Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Matt May, John May, Wayne Fortson, Robert May, Chris Baldwin, and Steve Anderson. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Mason, Jason Mears, Ken Mason, Larry Freeman, and Zach Mears.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the nursing staff at the Rector Nursing Home for the care and compassion provided to Faye during her stay.
