Arkansas State Police, Bay Police Department, and Craighead County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a motor vehicle accident with injury and entrapment Monday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 463 and Highway 158 near the Bay exit off I555.
Upon arrival, officers located one vehicle in the ditch on the north side of 463 and one vehicle still in the roadway, both with extreme damage.
ASP Trooper Morphis told a JonesboroRightNow reporter that preliminary investigation led him to believe that both vehicles were traveling in opposite directions on Hwy 463. One driver then crossed the center line, causing the vehicles to hit head on. One driver was pronounced deceased on scene, the other driver was transported to an area hospital.
Names of both drivers have not been released at this time.
