Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – April 15, 2024 – A Facebook group entitled Bikers Against Predators found themselves in Jonesboro on Friday afternoon interviewing a Jonesboro man on Facebook Live regarding alleged child pornography and inappropriate conversations he’d been having with a juvenile.
In the video, the host can be seen standing in the road with 65-year-old Martin L. Williams, speaking with him about a conversation he’d been having with what he thought was an 11-year-old girl and photos they’d reportedly been sending each other.
The video’s host, “Boots Gaming,” also posted a separate Facebook Live of himself moments before he gets out of the vehicle to speak with Williams. During this video, he states that he’s been sitting in front of Williams’ house for 5 hours attempting to set up a meeting between Williams and the fake 11 year old female. During this video, he also alludes to an alleged phone call between Williams and the decoy from a few days earlier. Audio of that phone call can be found here, posted to YouTube by Bikers Against Predators, but strong language is used, and listener discretion is advised.
The hour and 27 minute Facebook Live can be seen below. It includes the initial approach, the entire “interview” between Boots Gaming and Martin Williams, along with the moment that the Jonesboro Police Department officers arrive, take Mr. Williams into custody, and take over the investigation.
The Jonesboro Police Department learned about the video as it was happening and arrived on scene to further question Mr. Williams. JPD Detective Sgt. Bill Brown asked if Williams would go to the police station for an interview. Williams agreed.
Brown wrote in a probable cause affidavit that Williams said in the video that he had child exploitation images on his phone. Williams told Brown he was deleting images from his phone when the police arrived, but he wasn’t able to delete them all. When Brown checked Williams’ phone, he found an image of a girl, aged 12 to 14 years old, posing naked in a provocative manner.
Williams told Brown during the interview that he was banned from Facebook and Instagram.
“I then asked if the Child Exploitation was the reason he was banned, and he stated ‘probably,'” Brown wrote.
District Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause to charge Martin L. Williams with distribute possess viewing matter depicting sexual conduct involving a child, a class C felony,
Fowler set Williams’ bond at $35,000. His next court date is May 24 in Craighead County Circuit Court.
