Jonesboro, AR — (JonesboroRightNow.com) — May 28, 2025 — Deputies arrested a Trumann woman after they said she used credit cards from her former employer to pay nearly a million dollars’ worth of utilities and other items for her own business in Jonesboro.
Judge Barbara Halsey found probable cause May 28 to charge 52-year-old Jennifer Renee Latham with theft of $25,000 or more (all others), fraudulent use of a credit or debit card over $25,000, and criminal use of property.
According to the affidavit, on May 12, the owner of Valley View Agri contacted the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office about a former employee, Latham, stealing nearly $1 million from his business.
Cochran said when the thefts were noticed, a promissory note was set up with Latham for her to pay back $413,451.86, and she had been paying the note at $1,000 weekly.
The affidavit stated that the business later found that Latham used company credit cards for her own use and got products to stock another business, My Affordable Abode, owned by Latham. The total amount charged was $642,194.38.
Documentation also indicated that Latham paid utilities at the My Affordable Abode business by using credit cards from Valley View Agri before her termination there.
Latham was arrested at 8:30 a.m. on May 28 but was released over an hour later, according to the online jail roster. The affidavit stated she had been given a $5,000 cash/surety bond, which was agreed upon with the district attorney before her court appearance.
Latham’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 31.
