Emma Jean Evans of Jonesboro, formerly of Trumann, passed away from a long battle with Alzheimer’s on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital at the age of 82 years, 7 months and 14 days.  She was born in Trumann on February 5, 1942. Raised in Trumann by her parents, Thedore and Irene Howard, Jean worked diligently at various jobs throughout the years. She retired from the ASU Library as a Card Cataloger.  Jean’s favorite things included cooking and spending time putting together puzzles with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, especially during the holidays.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband of 61 years, Bob Evans; and her sister, Georgia Bailey. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Kemuel Camp of Jonesboro; daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Matt Cunningham of Jonesboro; grandson, Brenden (Stephanie) Camp of Brookland; grandson, Tyler Womble of Edmond, OK, grandson, Braden (Hannah) Camp of Ward; great-grandchildren, Carter and Collins Camp of Brookland; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bruce and Allenna Evans of Nashville, TN; and brother-in-law, Gerald Bailey of Trumann.

Serving as Pallbearers are grandsons, Brenden Camp, Braden Camp and Tyler Womble, son-in-law Matt Cunningham, Gary Bearden, and Steve Lands. Visitation will be Saturday, September 21, 2024 at StoneRidge Church of Christ in Jonesboro beginning at 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Services will be directed by Kemuel Camp of StoneRidge Church of Christ with Thompson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
